I’m sure everyone reading this has heard the saying “Fools rush in.” Well, it’s officially the theme to our love story. It’s hard to believe this time last year we were complete strangers and now we can barely remember our lives without each other. It was unknown between us that we both frequent the same Starbucks without realizing we were only separated by 3 blocks! For some unexplained reason, we were not destined to meet until early fall of 2017. You may be asking yourself, “How did these two crazy kids finally connect?” For those of you who don’t know, we met the millennial way: through an online dating app known as Bumble. Thankfully, the “Bumble” Gods have in hand a plan and now here we are engaged, planning our unconventional Las Vegas wedding!
It was Thursday, February 15th, 2018, a day no different than any other day. Our schedules generally consist of Frank coaching soccer most weeknights while I attend the gym. After showering and packing for a trip home to Seattle, Frank unexpectedly bounces through the door at 9:15PM. A few minutes later, he excitedly says “I have a late Valentine’s Day gift for you. It’s so epic I need to record your reaction because it’s going to be priceless and it’s seriously the most ridiculous thing ever!” Frank then proceeds to present this bag to me and inside this bag was a pair of goalkeeper gloves. I was pondering to myself, “Why would he get me a pair of goalkeeper gloves when I don’t play or know anything about the sport?” Suddenly, Frank remarks, “It’s because you’re a keeper!” After a few moments of giggling, Frank walks around the table to assist me putting on the gloves. After I finished slipping on the right glove, I felt something strange as I was in the middle of slipping on the left glove. After an “aww” moment I realized it was a ring! At this point, how could I not say yes? Anyone who has ever met Frank knows that he is the sweetest goofball. Although it was a little silly, the proposal was intimate and 100% consistent with our laid back relationship. Staying true to my rebellious way, I expressed, “Since we’re going to Vegas in May for your soccer tournament, we might as well get married there too!”
With that being said, we will be getting married at the infamous Little White Chapel May 18th, 2018 at 8:30PM in Las Vegas. With such short notice, we realize everyone cannot make that date. Fortunately, you will be able to stream the ceremony online and celebrate as we officially tie the knot. More details to come.
